Despite the efforts he made in order to be able to defend his title at Wimbledon, Rafael Nadal announced Friday that he will not be able to compete on this year's tournament.
After playing two exibition matches in which he lost (to Hewitt and Wawrinka), the spanish player was force to withdraw from the upcoming competition, as he is physically not able to compete in a big tournament.
Nadal could lose his no 1 position in the ATP rankings if Federer, who's now the real #1 seed and big favorite, will win the tournament. Federer could also become one of the few players who won Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year.
